Croatian music has lost one of its defining voices with the passing of Gabi Novak (1936–2025). Across a career spanning more than six decades, she became one of the most cherished interpreters of the Croatian chanson and jazz-pop tradition.
Among her best-loved recordings is Vino i gitare (“Wine and Guitars”) — a tender ode to wine, friendship and quiet evenings among old friends. It is a sentiment that resonates deeply with everyone who has ever gathered around a glass and a good song, letting the world slow down for one warm night.
We remember her here at Vinski Klub with gratitude, and raise a glass to a voice that made wine, warmth and companionship sound like home.
